Talk titles for 2018/19:
-Wildlife on Your Doorstep
A talk emphasising all the fantastic wildlife there is to see and photograph on our doorsteps, from Deer to Hedgehogs and from Owls to Foxes. Tom will not only be showing you his wildlife images from our local areas but also describing all the stories behind how he took the images. This talk also branches out to talk about our coastlines and the Northern areas of the Uk showing images of the very charismatic Puffins and Red squirrel.
-Exciting Wildlife From Around The World
This talk focuses on four wildlife hotspots around the world which Tom has been fortunate enough to visit and photograph the amazing wildlife in their natural environment. Tom describes his adventures photographing King Penguins in the Falklands, Orangutans in Borneo, Blue Whales in Sri Lanka and his biggest passion of all: the big five in Africa.
-Wildlife Through A Lens
Within this talk Tom goes into what it takes to be a Wildlife Photographer. Talking about the importance of light, the right angles and the emphasis on trying to compose a sellable image when looking through the lens. Tom describes his adventures over the last few years, and how he has gone from working in a gym to now taking wildlife images around the world and exhibiting them over the UK.
My Love Of Africa
Tom’s biggest passion is Africa. Tom will go into detail about his travels around this evocative continent, describing moments trekking through the famous Bwindi Mountains in search of Gorillas to spending time with a clan of meerkats out in the Kalahari desert. He will be showing his images of one of the most illusive and beautiful mammals on the planet whilst also explaining why Hippos and photography equipment are not a great combination!
Britain Through The Seasons
This talk presents an array of British wildlife through our four seasons. Tom will talk about spending hours lying in the snow photographing mountain hares during the cold winter months, to waiting for fox cubs to appear from their den on the long summer evenings. Tom will go into detail about how including the different colours of the year can help improve your images and why photographing in extreme weather conditions can bring out the best in your photos.
