Tailor Made Private Safaris
You are now able to join Tom on a tailor made private photographic safari to suit you. You choose the destination and the dates that work best with your schedule and Tom and the team at Busanga Safaris will put together a photographic trip . Whether you are looking for a 1-1 or 2-1 private safari or whether you would prefer to book as a group of 6, this can be arranged for you.
Whether you are trekking for Mountain Gorillas in Uganda’s deep forest or photographing Elephants out on the plains of the Masai Mara, Tom will be constantly on hand to give you as much guidance as you need to help you take some beautiful images on your travels. During the relaxation time on your travels, you will also be able to sit down with Tom and review images and ask any questions you may have about ways to improve your photography.
A typical day on safari:
-Morning wake up call (before sunrise)
-Breakfast and tea/coffee at the campfire
-Morning Game drive
-Camp brunch and short rest (downloading, reviewing images. Tom will be on hand to help give advice on images).
-Afternoon game drive
-Dinner and drinks around the camp fire
In terms of camera kit, this will vary a lot depending on the type of safari you travelling on. Most likely the longest lens you have will be required. A minimum of a 300mm lens will be necessary to get the best out of your images from a vehicle on safari, however, when photographing Mountain Gorillas or Meerkats, a smaller zoom (eg. 70-200) lens would also be ideal to capture the animals that come closer to us. A bean bag for the photography based in the vehicle is a great way of making sure your lens is as stable as possible when taking your shots. Make sure you bring plenty of memory cards as when you are on a photographic safari you will be taking a lot of images. A spare battery always comes in very useful.
Tom and the Busanga team are able to work with a budget to suit you. The more people participating in the safari, the most cost effective the trip becomes.
